CallowLife - Immature and inexperienced, but learning every day. Fresh.

Thank You from the Bottom of My Heart

I want you to know how thankful I am that you read my blog. This blog does so much for; entertainment, joy, catharsis, socialization. It's wonderful, and it wouldn't happen without you. Without someone to read it, it would be pointless. I owe you the world. I owe you a lifetime. I love you.

Thank You.

Static

It's late November and outside it feels like an early summer night; it's fantastic.

I've got one more assignment and three classes before Thanksgiving break; I'm ecstatic.

I'm currently listening to Beethoven's 5th Symphony; very dramatic.

I got a new car; it's not manual.

I really want a turlte; the kind that's aquatic.

Why am I so melodramatic? I want to be like James Dean; charismatic.

I have to write a TV commercial for class; I lose points if it's idiomatic.

I want a girlfriend. I don't mind if she's problematic.

A bridge made of plastic? Use recycled materials so that it's pragmatic.

Literally, every time I touch my door knob, I get static.

I want to thank you for being a fanatic.

Sorry this poem-thing was very climactic.

Tic Tac?

Things Change

Take a look at the classical era of music which has a lot of focus on controlled form. Right after this, the baroque era focuses on emotion and really doesn't give a hoot about form.

The same thing is happening with YouTube. People used to want to see something beautifully composited, beautiful in form - and it's still nice to see someting beautiful in form, but now, people don't care nearly as much about form, they care about content. People want to see a story that is hilarious or interesting, they don't care about compositional film techniques like the rule of thirds or three-point lighting. If they did care, YouTube would be completely different.

Garbage

One of my professors talked about how using a certain pen that you love can help with creativity. The way I just said it, it seems stupid, but it does have some merit. I haven't been able to find a single pen I really like until yesterday. I was sitting in class, sun shining through a window right onto my desk. I had a Bic Cristal pen in my hand and realized when I twisted the pen, it had a disco ball effect. It was awesome! I found the perfect pen for me. Aside from the awesome prismation, it writes very well, doesn't break easily (a plus for me), and a pack of ten only costs a dollar!

One of my favorite movie effects, when Dick Van Dyke makes his pants penguin-y in Mary Poppins:

Tryst

Does anybody actually keep a diary with the intent for it to never be read?

Classical music, when understood, is a great source of entertainment. I just bought Handel's Messiah (2 Disc) performed by the London Philharmonic for like $3 on Amazon MP3. I'm really glad I took a music appreciation class this semester.

The day of the week doesn't matter to me because I'm just as busy on weekends.

I think I'm going to be getting two pet turtles (ones that swim) soon. They're a big responsibility though. They live fifty years. I'll get two so they don't have to be lonely.

I better get to bed.

You should make a hand-turkey for Thanksgiving. I made one. I'll post a picture soon! GLITTER!!!

Busy Bee

The only reason I have time to post right now is that I don't have enough time to start working on something else before I go to bed.

Hilarious Twitter: big_ben_clock ...it goes "BONG" at every hour.

I don't understand why people don't reply to e-mail or Facebook messages. My job involves getting in contact with lots of people, and for some reason people think that if they are contacted (by me, anyway) in an e-mail or Facebook message, they don't need to respond. I don't understand how people can do that. It befuddles me.

I've been so busy that I can't keep track of stuff. I didn't really mind losing my keys, my pen, spare change, etc. When I lost my chapstick. I WAS PISSED.

The ancient Romans would binge and purge during meals just so that they could eat more. They LOVED to eat. And they wanted to be fat.

Daniel Dobbins.

If I was dating a girl as hot as Shakira, I would not be in college.

I've been noticing that, for some odd reason, my handwriting has been looking a lot like my mom's lately.

I'm listening to my Mozart channel on Pandora radio right now. When I'm typing and an epic part of a song starts playing, I feel like my typing is so important; haha. It's like I'm in a movie or something.

Over and out.

Wind Up Toy Analogy

Do you remember those wind-up toys, or the cars that needed to be pulled back and let go to move forward.

This is my analogy for tonight.

Those toys can be wound up a little bit and they'll move a little bit, or they can be wound up a lot and they'll move a lot. I remember wanting to wind my car up as much as possible so that it would go really fast, really far. After so much winding, though, the car would start to make this weird cracking noise. At that point, winding more (pulling back further) would be 1) bad because it could break the mechanism inside, 2) pointless because the car won't go any further or faster.

This semester -fall of my junior year- is my busiest yet. I've never been so busy in my life. Aside from anxiety attacks every now and then, I'm even too busy to stress about this stuff. It's kind of ironic. Anyway, I feel like a wind up toy. My mechanism is wound up and very tense/tight. If I'm wound up anymore, I might break.

Colleges are almost like little kids, then, in that they wind us students up way past the point of there being a point in them doing so (I hope that made sense).

Some winding is good. It gets us going. It makes us work.

Too much winding; bad.

I'm kind of interested to see what will happen when my Christmas break finally comes and the winding key is released. Will I be like a car and zoom? Will I be like a McDonald's kid's meal toy and limp around in a circle? Will I be broken?

Anyway, I hope you're getting wound up enough to get going, but not so much that you break.

Thanks for reading :)

Sticky

I just found out Betty Crocker isn't/wasn't a real person.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

What Would Google Do?

Do people think anymore? My apartment's fire alarm is a lady saying "there is a fire in the building, evacuate," and then a very low pitched "beep, beep, beep." When the alarm went off at 3:45AM, my roommates and I would have been dead if there was really a fire.

You may have heard the song "Fireflies" by Owl City. I love the song because it is so uniquely romantic in that it doesn't actually mention human-to-human love, but the romance is burning with every sound.

Insult: A clerk asked to see my ID when I bought an "M" (17+) rated video game. I'm twenty.

I found an alternative to caffiene. It works as well, but instead of being addictive in the long run, it's addictive in the short run. It is Resident Evil 4; the video game I was IDed for buying.

One of the hardest things for me to do is ask people to do something for free.

I'm definitely buying this for my sisters and I to play over Thanksgiving break.

Thoughts To Drift

Don't you ever, EVER call us dumb!

I wonder if great people, like Mozart, wished they were average?

Does side "A" take words (literally; the meaning of words) too seriously, or does side "B" not take them seriously enough?

Elevators are awkward. We're not in them long enough to have conversation, but we're in them longer than "hello, how are you?"

Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind is hope for the emotionally detached and the losers.

Some people are too cynical, and they lose connection with joy.

The ancient Greeks believed that anything truthful is beautiful and anything beautiful is truthful. What do you think?
